On the move: RSM names chief talent officer

Blake Christian, tax partner at HCVT, Irvine, was named one of the Top 25 Opportunity Zone Magazine OZ Tax Specialists and OZ Influencer at the October OZ Expo Tax Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

Ty Beasley was named chief talent officer at RSM US, Chicago, where he was previously the north Texas market leader since 2016, and the consulting leader for talent.

Grant Thornton, Chicago, named a new nonprofit organization to its Purple Paladin program, which provides funding, business advice and volunteer support. This year, GT chose Digs with Dignity, which elevates the lives of people transitioning from homelessness by designing and furnishing their homes using donated items. 

The Sales Tax Institute, Chicago, announced Nancy Steele, state and local tax coordinator at TaxOps, as the winner of the 2022 Sales Tax Nerd Award, which recognizes sales tax professionals who demonstrate a dedicated passion and commitment to the study and practice of sales tax.

The Illinois CPA Society released a new video in its CEO Video series, "A CPA Diversity Report: Uncovering the Barriers to Success," viewable here.

Herbein + Co., Reading, announced the recipients of its Herbein 50 for 50 Project grants, with the firm contributing $50,000 to five community organizations in celebration of its 50th anniversary.
