FAF also appointed Michael Clement and Elizabeth Pearce to its board of trustees; reappointed Carolyn Smith to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board for a second five-year term, continuing through Dec. 31, 2029; and appointed David Finkelstein to the Private Company Council, effective Jan. 1, 2024, and extending through Dec. 31, 2026.

The International Federation of Accountants announced its newest board member and several reappointments to the board. The new board appointment was Khalilullah Shaikh, of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan; and reappointed were: Atul Gupta, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India; Kohei Kan, the Japanese Institute of CPAs; Chiara Mio, Consiglio Nazionale dei Dottori Commercialisti e degli Esperti Contabili of Italy; and Taryn Rulton, Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand. The IFAC Council also approved as new members: Ordem dos Contabilistas e Auditores de Moçambique, Mozambique; and the Palestinian Association of CPAs; and as a new associate, the Namibia Institute for Professional Accountants. Additionally, IFAC announced Charles Tilley, an advocate for integrated reporting and integrated thinking and former chief of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, as the recipient of the 2023 IFAC Global Leadership Award, celebrating his influence and dedication to the global accountancy profession.
