ALABAMA

Ashley Caldwell, Kristi Cerice, Melanie Shores and Mark Underhill were promoted to senior managers at Barfield, Murphy, Shank & Smith, Birmingham.

CALIFORNIA

Hidehito Kanai was hired as a partner at SingerLewak, Torrance.

Sanjay Agarwal and Amy Miller were admitted as partners, and Sumit Pal was hired as an audit principal, at Seiler, San Francisco.

DELAWARE

Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, Wilmington, announced five promotions: Tyler Dorso to senior accountant in the tax and small business department; Emily Schmidt to senior accountant in the accounting and auditing department; Tyler Starr to staff II accountant in the rotational development program; Val Allston to lead bookkeeper in the tax and small business department; and Sinclair Gibore to senior IT specialist at firm subsidiary BL&S Technologies.

Brenda Wagner was appointed chief people and culture officer at Grant Thornton, Chicago.

Tina Perez was hired as an audit partner at Sikich, Indianapolis.

KENTUCKY

Brad Smith, assurance services team leader, was appointed managing partner at MCM CPAs & Advisors, Louisville, succeeding Diane Medley, who will remain with the firm in the full-time role of chair, as part of MCM’s intended succession plan. Smith, who has been with MCM since 2002, will work with Medley over the next year to transition the role across all seven of the firm’s offices.

MARYLAND

Alex Courtney, Brianne Dickinson and Juliette Wallace were promoted to senior associates, and Paul Previti was promoted to staff associate, at Smith Elliott Kearns & Co., Hagerstown.
