CALIFORNIA

Julie West, corporate tax partner at BPM, San Francisco, will chair the firm’s corporate tax practice, enabling corporate tax chair Bob Houston to focus on expanding BPM’s M&A, SALT and R&D specialty services lines.

FLORIDA

Richard Huckaby was named office managing member for the Tampa office of Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors, succeeding Ralph Garcia, who is retiring after 37 years with the firm.

GEORGIA

David Gunter was admitted as a partner at CapinCrouse, Atlanta. Gunter has 35 years of consulting and advisory experience and will serve clients nationwide.

Townsell “Tigger” Marshall was promoted to partner in the personal financial services practice and Jennings Pitts was promoted to partner in the corporate tax practice of Bennett Thrasher, Atlanta, which now has 38 total partners. Marshall joined the firm in 2011 and Pitts joined in 2004.

Joshua Lance, founder and managing director of Lance CPA Group, Chicago, and member of the Illinois CPA Society, was selected as one of 38 nationwide participants in the American Institute of CPAs’ 2017 Leadership Academy October 1-5 in Durham, N.C.

LOUISIANA

Melanie Talley, senior association coordinator in the association management services group at Postlethwaite & Netterville, Baton Rouge, has earned the Certified Association Executive designation.

MARYLAND

Angela Avant, president and CEO of Enterprise Advisory Solutions and former president and CEO of the National Association of Black Accountants, was appointed to the District of Columbia Board of Accountancy, Greenbelt, joining four other members appointed by Mayor Muriel Bowser. In this role, Avant will regulate licenses of professional accountants and uphold the District of Columbia accountancy license law.

Kim Fusco, principal at Ellin & Tucker, Baltimore, was elected board president of Disability Rights Maryland, where she will serve a one-year term furthering the organization’s mission of advancing the civil rights of people with disabilities.

MICHIGAN

Christine Tudrick was promoted to principal at Gordon Advisors, Troy. Previously a senior manager, Tudrick has been with the firm since 1999 and has more 25 years of experience providing accounting, tax and consulting services to clients in a variety of industries, with a focus on medical and services for closely held firms.

MISSOURI

Adam Herman, partner, was named chief visionary officer, and Quinn Martin, partner, was named chief operating officer, at Mueller Prost, St. Louis. This is the first time the firm has appointed a CVO and COO, splitting from the traditional managing partner structure. Herman has over 25 years of experience in business valuations, tax credits, advising and consulting, and in his new role will oversee the strategy and direction of the firm, lead growth and new service initiatives and manage the firm’s industry leaders, sales and marketing efforts. Martin has over 15 years of experience in assurance and auditing services and in his new role will ensure the operational effectiveness of the firm. Mueller Prost co-founder Doug Mueller will remain president under the new structure and co-founder Mike Prost will act as managing partner during the transition.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

Julie Greenwood was promoted to principal at Nathan Wechsler & Co., Concord, where she has been a member since 1999 and currently provides clients with tax and technology services, along with overseeing the firm’s Keene office. In other firm news, Krista Dupre, manager, recently completed the Leadership Greater Concord program, which promotes civic awareness and how to get more involved in activities to enhance the region.

PENNSYLVANIA

Brian Kutz was hired as a tax senior associate at Boyer & Ritter CPAs and Consultants, Camp Hill. The firm also hired six new associates: Samantha Schaffer, Jada Handiboe, Charles Evans, David Bourne, Tanner Dixon and Jessica Byra.

Dunlap & Associates announced three promotions: Clinton Clevenstine to senior II accountant, Jeremy Fairbaugh to senior I accountant, and Tim Seese to staff II accountant, all in the accounting services department.

Haley Schwartz was hired as a wealth advisor at RKL Wealth Management, Lancaster, a subsidiary of RKL LLP.

TENNESSEE

Eric Curtiss, principal and member of the tax department at Berntson Porter & Co., Nashville, was accepted as a member of the nationwide association Real Estate & Construction CPAs.
