Intuit recognizes Small Business Heroes

Three companies have been chosen to receive $20,000 grants as part of Intuit QuickBooks and Mailchimp’s Small Business Hero Day. The award recognized small businesses who have had a major positive impact on their communities. Winners included Hive of the Ozarks (Willard, Missouri), a nonprofit cafe and community center, Tree House Craft Coffee & Frozen Yogurt (Houston), a specialty coffee and dessert shop that supported those impacted by Hurricane Harvey, and Ray’s Millpond Cafe (Ray City, Georgia), a cafe which has become a community institution and continued paying all employees even after suffering from business difficulties from the pandemic.

RedWing launches CenterPoint 17.0

RedWing Software, which makes accounting and financial management solutions, announced the release of the 17th version of its CenterPoint Accounting and Payroll products. The new version includes updated calculations for CenterPoint’s Agriculture Ratios module to compare one’s operation to similar businesses, new search capabilities for all products, and new enhancements to the Time Clock and Employee Portal, like the ability to set up employee groups or enable hours to be entered manually.

Visual Lease, which makes lease optimization software, announced the appointment of Robert Michlewicz as its new president. … IRIS Software Group, the parent company of AccountantsWorld, announced the appointment of Stephanie Coward as the managing director for its commercial division.

Data collection and reporting technology firm Elemental Machines and cloud-based service automation platform Qualer announced a strategic partnership that will combine the former’s universal laboratory operations platform with the latter’s cloud-based asset and service management solution. … Payroll provider Paychex announced it is now integrated with Jirav, which enhances its ability to provide reports and insights as well as provide firms with pricing, support and enablement across the joint offering. ... Wolters Kluwer Compliance has earned a 2022 FTF News Technology Innovation Award for its OneSumX for Operational Risk, the third consecutive year the product has been given such an award.
