Tech News: Intuit releases QB Workforce app

Intuit announced the release of its QuickBooks Workforce mobile app, which integrates time tracking and payroll features into a single solution. The app is based on the already existing QuickBooks Time app and sports a similar set of tools — which includes time-tracking, scheduling, and paid time off — but adds to that the ability for users to access their pay stubs and tax information as well. QuickBooks Workforce is meant more for employees to manage their work, pay and benefits in one place; the app is meant to replace the myriad disparate solutions many workers need to manage work hours, schedules, and paid time off. QuickBooks Time, meanwhile, will remain as the back-office time-tracking solution for managing teams' time, projects and (with integration with QuickBooks Payroll) payroll. All users across the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia will see the new Workforce name and logo, with all previous QuickBooks Time settings, data, and integrations remaining in place, requiring no action from the business owners, admins, or employees. The QuickBooks Workforce app is available for both Android and iOS.

FP&A platform Datarails announced the full rollout of its FP&A Genius solution, which it is hailing as "ChatGPT for CFOs." The tool uses generative AI of the kind that powers ChatGPT to produce insights about budgets, forecasts, variance and spend. Datatails, via its FinanceOS software, already connects and syncs all previously disparate spreadsheets and sources of data within a company, then consolidates and standardizes the data within the cloud. FP&A Genius is able to ingest this data and generate observations and analyses on it. It can also provide answers to factual questions about the data and even visually present them, as well as convert dashboards into presentations via an AI storytelling assistant.

HubSync, a SaaS company that provides accounting solutions, announced the launch of its new Gateway dashboard, intended to help CPA firms navigate between tax and audit functions. It provides real-time status reporting and customizable set-ups for internal, corporate, and individual clients, intended to provide 360-degree visibility regardless of size, complexity, or location. It also provides recent activity tracking, task lists, and progress tracking; combines secure data acquisition, collaboration, real-time reporting, and advanced analytics;  enables direct access to engagement teams; offers access to a full suite of audit and tax applications; and integrates with a wide range of tax and audit-related applications.
