Tech News: New AR tools from BlackLine, and more

BlackLine rolled out more capabilities around automating accounts receivable; Lockstep announced paperless billing registration, and other new hardware, software and technology company announcements, including new ways to manage SaaS spending; another round of funding at Botkeeper; a SOC 2 certification for Ledgible; and more.

    BlackLine unveils next-gen AR automation

    Blackline Inc. released the next generation of its accounts receivable automation suite, adding a number of new capabilities, including:
    • BlackLine Credit & Risk Management, which orchestrates collection strategies, recovery sequences and prioritization of team tasks;
    • BlackLine Collections Management, which features automated escalating recovery sequences;
    • BlackLine Disputes & Deductions, which highlights where collections issues may arise and identifying possible collections strategies; and,
    • BlackLine Team & Task Management, which uses data to prioritize AR staff's time.

    New accounting automation

    PathQuest Solutions launched two solutions, PathQuest Scale and PathQuest BI, aimed at creating a new accounting automation ecosystem. Accountants can connect their accounting software to PathQuest BI to analyze and visualize large, complex sets of data, while PathQuest Scale lets them automate time-sensitive manual work.

    Mesh helps manage SaaS spending

    Mesh Payments has added a suite of SaaS payment management capabilities to its spend management platform. SaaS Payment Management lets organizations manage all their SaaS spending in one place, helping them eliminate duplicate subscriptions and more.

    Botkeeper raises $42M

    The bookeeping automation services provider conducted its largest funding round yet. (See the full story.)

    Paperless billing for Lockstep

    The accounting platform developer has added a feature that allows customers to register themselves for an online account, moving them toward paperless billing and making sure companies have their latest contact information.

    New engagement letter resources

    Digital engagement letter developer Knuula has partnered with liability insurance provider McGowanPRO to add the latter's enagement letter templates to Knuula. McGowanPRO policy holders, meanwhile, will get a discount on a Knuula subscription.

    Ledgible now SOC 2-certified

    Verady's crypto asset tax and accounting platform Ledgible Crypto has completed its SOC 2 certification. Verady had announced SOC 1 compliance in January.

    Intuit completes Mailchimp acquisition

    QuickBooks developer Intuit announced that it has completed its acquisition of customer engagement and marketing platform Mailchimp, which was originally announced in September.
