Wolters Kluwer announced that its TaxWise® Online product has new enhancements and AI integrations. TaxWise Online now integrates Wolters Kluwer Expert AI, giving it generative and agentic capabilities for tax professionals. Users can now upload supported W2s and 1099s and autofill forms with AI directly from TaxWise Mobile into the return; capture data from driver's licenses, state IDs, military IDs and Social Security cards; access tax guidance with TaxWise Online and use inline help in the product or get AI-assisted support from CCH AnswerConnect; access a visual tracker; generate ERO-specific referral links; set discounts and track returns; and use a streamlined mobile interview and secure document exchange. General availability with the new capabilities has begun rolling out and will be featured at the GetWise 2025 Annual Conference, held across six major U.S. cities this November and December. EY announces EY.ai Tax Labs service

Big Four firm EY announced the launch of its new EY.ai Tax Lab offering, which makes use of its new Tax Agent Factory. The tax lab is marketed as a collaborative and open-ended environment where clients and EY professionals work together to develop, test and implement AI-driven strategies and bespoke solutions. EY professionals work with clients to pinpoint the core of their challenges, work with them on developing solutions through integration with EY's AI technology offerings, develop the specific business case for the solution, and implement them while identifying subsequent opportunities. At least some of these solutions will be developed through EY's new Tax Agent Factory, described as "a methodology, an operating model and a technology strategy that enables tax professionals and clients to design, build, train, deploy and manage AI agents at scale." Agents developed for clients will automate complex multistage tax processes and identify patterns in financial data.

Vertex launches Configuration Agent for MS Dynamics 365

Indirect tax solutions provider Vertex announced the availability of its Vertex Configuration Agent for Microsoft Dynamics 365 in the Microsoft Marketplace. The solution uses AI to automatically detect updates in source systems (such as new entities, registrations or locations) and proactively applies configuration adjustments before issues arise.  

"Launching the Vertex tax agent in the Microsoft Marketplace marks a significant milestone in our mission to simplify tax complexity through intelligent automation," said Bradd Wildstein, vice president of partner sales at Vertex, in a statement. "By harnessing Microsoft's AI capabilities, we're empowering customers with a smarter, faster way to maintain tax accuracy—streamlining processes, improving compliance and driving operational efficiency."
