Accounting solutions provider Wolters Kluwer announced the launch of a new division, Corporate Performance & ESG, which will be composed of other global software units within the company: Corporate Performance (CCH Tagetik; including U.S. Corporate Tax); EHS/ORM Software (Enablon); Finance, Risk & Reporting and Internal Audit Solutions (TeamMate).

Corporate Performance & ESG will be led by Karen Abramson, CEO of Wolters Kluwer's Tax & Accounting division for the past nine years. The Governance, Risk & Compliance division will become Financial & Corporate Compliance and will comprise CT Corporation and Compliance Solutions, which provide legal services and banking compliance software, content, and lien solutions to mainly U.S. businesses. Steve Meirink, executive vice president and general manager of compliance solutions, will be appointed CEO of Financial & Corporate Compliance. Wolters Kluwer's Enterprise Legal Management unit, currently part of the GRC division, will be transferred to the Legal & Regulatory division for closer alignment with the legal software business.

Intuit launches TurboTax Live Full Service en Español

Intuit launched TurboTax Live Full Service in Español, which comes with fully translated shopping and onboarding experiences. TurboTax's Live offerings also tap into the company's AI-driven expert platform that matches filers with an experienced bilingual tax expert to handle their unique tax situation and prepare, sign, and file their taxes for them. The bilingual options are part of a larger initiative undertaken by Intuit to better connect with the Latino community, which also includes several marketing campaigns.

Sage rolls out enhancements for 2023 release

Accounting and business intelligence solutions provider Sage announced several new features to Sage Intacct. One is accounts payable automation, including paperless approval routing, automated payment processing, automated reconciliation, and reporting. Another new feature is automated usage billing for subscriptions, allowing users to automate their financial processes without the need to bolt on third-party billing applications. Finally, Sage has also made enhancements to Mateo Savings and Loan, a cloud-based Roman Catholic diocesan savings and loans solution that they acquired last year.

Sage has also made Sage Intacct Planning and Sage Intelligent Time available in South Africa and Australia, with the United Kingdom to follow in the first half of 2023; the company also made the early adopter program for Sage Intacct available in France.

The Virginia Society of CPAs announced the release of its new suite of 2023 courses from Essential Ethics which cover topics such as recruiting and retaining diverse talent; case studies on real-life fraud incidents ranging from insider trading to cryptocurrency schemes and more; and the ethical and legal issues related to cybersecurity, private, remote work and other technological decisions. Essential Ethics also includes an Ethics Resource Center with articles, whitepapers, and more. ... IRIS Software Group announced a partnership with accounting firm Ad Valorem. Ad Valorem will also help drive the development strategy of IRIS Elements. … Intuit named Sandeep Singh Aujla chief financial officer, effective Aug. 1, 2023. Aujla has held senior finance positions at Intuit for seven years and is currently the senior vice president of finance for Intuit's largest business unit, the Small Business and Self-Employed Group, and for Intuit's Technology organization. Michelle Clatterbuck, who has served as CFO since February 2018, plans to step down on July 31, 2023.
