Moore Stephens Frost Shortens Name

Accounting firm Moore Stephens Frost has changed its name to Frost, PLLC.

Last year, Moore Stephens Frost acquired Lynch & Howard, an 80-year old accounting firm based in Raleigh, N.C. (see Moore Stephens Frost Buys North Carolina Firm). The firm also acquired the practice of Rick J. Tanneberger, CPA, PA, based in Fayetteville, Ark. The mergers created a larger firm offering an array of services, including not just audit and tax, but also retirement planning, investment management, business valuations, employee benefit plan design and administration, and insurance services.

"After acquiring two other accounting firms and successfully operating them together for more than 17 months, we feel the time has arrived to project a common identity to our clients and communities," said Frost managing member Dan Peregrin (pictured) in a statement. "Our desire is to deliver all of our accounting-related services in all of our locations under one common firm name."

The firms had agreed to create a common identity after merging, but because none of the previous firm names would meet the licensing requirements of the State Boards of Public Accountancy in all the states in which they operate, the name Moore Stephens Frost was shortened to Frost, PLLC, effective this month.

The offices will remain in the current locations, according to Peregrin, with the same mailing addresses, phone and fax numbers. "The only change is the name on the door will now be Frost, PLLC," he said.
