An Internal Revenue Service employee was arrested at the IRS offices in Dallas after a grand jury indicted him on a felony bribery charge.
The indictment charges Fernando Hernandez, 33, with one count of receiving a bribe as a public official, and aiding and abetting. In June 2005, Hernandez allegedly sought and accepted $2,000 in cash from a taxpayer in return for promising that no IRS representative would audit the taxpayers return.
If convicted, Hernandez faces up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
