Accounting Community Continues Tsunami Relief Efforts

Joining firms such as KPMG and Grant Thornton and tax prep firm Liberty Tax Service, members of the accounting community continue their efforts to offer relief to victims of the tsunami that has devastated Southeast Asia.

Indianapolis-based CPA firm Crowe Chizek announced this week that it is collecting funds from its partners, directors, executives and staff members, and will match every dollar that employees donate up to $50,000.

The funds will be directed to the American Red Cross and UNICEF for use in tsunami disaster relief efforts. The collection will continue until Jan. 19.

The Washington-based nonprofit Tax Council Policy Institute said that it will donate 10 percent of the registration fees from its 2005 Tax Council Policy Institute Symposium to organizations that are providing tsunami relief. The Sixth Annual TCPI Symposium will be held Feb. 10-11, 2005, at the Ritz Carlton in Washington.
