Accounting Firm Enters Media Consulting

Accounting firm Armanino McKenna LLP has formed a division that will act as a media-consulting firm under the leadership of a former newspaper publisher.

The accounting firm hooked up with Vintage Foster, the former publisher and CEO of the East Bay Business Times and Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal. Foster will lead the new media-consulting firm, known as Armanino McKenna Foster. The firm will offer advice to media and communications companies on brand development, marketing, advertising, public relations, media relations, crisis management and content.

Foster is credited with turning around business at both the newspapers he led. He also held editing and reporting positions at the Charlotte Observer and the Detroit Free Press.

Along with providing media consulting for the firm, he will work on professional recruitment and workplace diversity efforts. In 2001, he founded the East Bay Leadership Foundation, which provides scholarships and mentoring to economically disadvantaged students in the Bay Area.
