Accounting Today and iLumen Launch WebCPA Client Connection

Accounting Today and iLumen have introduced WebCPA Client Connection, an online analytical system that connects public accountants with their small and midsized business clients.

WebCPA Client Connection enables accountants and CPAs to monitor and analyze the financial activities of their business clients in a secure and interactive environment, enabling the CPA to recommend and provide essential services at the moment they are needed.

The Web-based system gives the CPA direct access to analysis on key client business activities, such as audit and tax-planning metrics, bank covenant analysis, trailing twelve-month financial information, cash flow, and peer benchmarking data. Once the CPA firm establishes a connection with a client, the system can receive data directly from the client's internal accounting system to populate dashboards for client-monitoring, send alerts and generate Excel reports. CPAs can use the reporting and analytics to support a range of planning and client-management functions, including providing advisory service alerts and creating deliverable reports for client meetings.
WebCPA Client Connection works with all major accounting systems. It is priced at $150 per year per client.

"In these difficult economic times, monitoring —and staying connected to—each business client has never been more important for accounting professionals," said Rob Whitaker, senior vice president and group publisher of Accounting Today. "WebCPA Client Connection provides the CPA with a secure 'analytical connection' to each business client, ensuring full visibility into their financial health."

"CPAs are in a privileged position as the most trusted business advisor to small and mid-market businesses," said iLumen co-founder Robert Woosley, CPA. "WebCPA Client Connection arrives at a moment in our profession when clients are seeking almost daily interaction with their business advisors, and CPAs need tools and data to help them make informed decisions to run their business."
