Accpac Makes Several Product Changes

Las Vegas (Aug. 20, 2002) --Business management software developer Accpac International has used the second day of its annual Partnership conference here to make several major product announcements, which include the release of a Linux operating system desktop version of its Advantage Series accounting software."Linux continues to gain acceptance within the small and medium size business community. Now, our Advantage Series customers can take full advantage of Linux," said Accpac chief executive David Hood. A Linux server version of Advantage has been available for about a year.

Separately Accpac announced that its "eCRM" customer relationship management software now integrates with its Pro Series accounting applications. Before, eCRM had only integrated with Advantage, which is designed for larger companies than the Pro Series targets.

Accpac also announced a program designed to encourage resellers to sell third-party developed applications that integrate with Accpac accounting solutions. Resellers purchasing third-party products through Accpac will have those purchase amounts applied to the volumes that determine their marketing credit and product discount benefits from the vendor; before, those benefits were based solely on resellers’ purchase of Accpac products.

An Accpac spokesman estimated attendance at the show to be about 1,000. Some resellers on hand say the turnout is less and far below what Accpac attracted at previous years’ conferences.
