Acumatica Names VP of Software Engineering

Executive hiring at cloud ERP and financial software provider Acumatica continues with the appointment of Oleg Shaikhatarov as its new vice president of software engineering.

Shaikhatarov will begin his new role immediately in the Acumatica software development office based in Moscow, Russia, and will report to recently named chief executive Yury Larichev.

In his new role, Shaikhatarov will work closely with Acumatica’s chief technology officer and co-founder Mike Chtchelkonogov and will be responsible for the execution of product roadmap, product delivery and tuning of the engineering process within the company.

Prior to joining Acumatica, Shaikhatarov joined the research lab at virtualization software maker Parallels in 1999 and was responsible for billing and automation products since 2000. During his tenure at Parallels, he managed teams of up to 50-plus engineers, including QA, product development, maintenance, third-line support, custom development, and customer implementations.

“I am glad to have Oleg leading our engineering team. We’ll rely on his deep expertise in engineering processes and operationalization, and intend to bring more transparency and predictability to our future product releases” said Larichev. “I feel confident we will manage to grow our professional engineering team, and stay focused on our defined product strategy roadmap.”

Since Acumatica’s move to the Pacific Northwest from McLean, Va. in early December it has been in a hiring mode and Larichev admitted the company has some aggressive goals over the next year, particularly looking to triple its revenue and grow its staff to 30 by mid-year.
