Adaptive Planning Adds Audit Trail

Adaptive Planning introduced the latest version of its on-demand corporate financial planning software, adding new collaboration features, including cell notes and an audit trail.

Adaptive Planning 5.5 also adds multilingual features that allow the budgeting, forecasting and reporting software to run in other languages, including French, German, Spanish and Japanese.

The cell notes feature allows users to add notes to individual cells on spreadsheets for other users to read. "A user can create a report on something like telephone expenses and they can create a note on why a particular adjustment was made," said Adaptive Planning CEO Bill Soward.

The new audit trail feature lets users track, view and search the history of user-entered changes for every cell in the plan. Other new features include support for the Mozilla Firefox browser, in addition to Microsoft Internet Explorer. Soward said the company had no immediate plans to support other Web browsers, such as Apple Safari or Google Chrome.

The software has also added data integration features, including Adaptive Planning Connectors that allow automated imports of data from other accounting software, databases and files. Soward said the company would probably first introduce connectors for business partners NetSuite and Intacct. The company now has over 425 customers and over 100 partners.
