Adaptive Planning has introduced Adaptive Discovery, a cloud-based data visualization system that works with the company's budgeting and corporate performance management system. 

The new add-on features visual dashboards and scorecards to help managers access, analyze, and explore key financial and operational data, enabling them to gain insights into underlying trends in the business.

The system is able to compile financial and operational data from multiple systems and lines of business, present it visually in graphs and charts, and allow CFOs and other managers to drill down for further information. The system includes alerts that show, for example, when gross margin falls into a "warning zone." Trend analysis features indicate patterns such as rising material costs by vendor and changes in the sales pipeline. The system runs from the cloud to accelerate deployment and allow access from mobile devices.

“There is strong interest across our customer base in having mobile access, leveraging tablets primarily, not smart phones so much, to get access to reports, dashboards and scorecards,” said Adaptive Planning vice president of marketing Greg Schneider. “That’s something we’re supporting, not only with this application, but driving support for this across the entire Adaptive Planning application.”
