ADP Upgrades Payroll Service for Accountants

ADP has beefed up its RUN payroll service for accountants who process payroll for their small business clients, adding new security and data entry features and more payment options.

The latest version of RUN Powered by ADP Payroll for Accountants is able to restrict access to client data to individual users within the same firm. Accountants can choose, on a case-by-case basis, whether to enter their clients' payroll information or have their small business clients manage this task directly.

The service also integrates with the ADP Pay-by-Pay Premium Payment Program to automate worker's compensation payments. The money is automatically sent to insurance carriers. "Small businesses don't have to outlay a lot at the beginning of the year," said Don Weinstein, vice president of strategy and marketing at ADP's Small Business Services division.

The service also now offers additional pay options, including direct deposit, payroll cards and ADPCheck, a service that generates payroll checks written on an ADP account. In addition, the service now offers access to 401(k) and Simple IRA retirement plans. It also provides links to free research from CCH and BNA.
