AICPA Offers Client Letter for 2010 Tax Relief Act

The AICPA has posted a sample client letter that accountants and tax practitioners can download, personalize and use to inform their clients about how the legislation extending the Bush-era tax cuts could affect them.

The letter includes information about some important decisions that clients may need their accountants' help in making and points out various provisions in the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010, including the increased lifetime gift-tax exclusion, new estate tax rates, extension of unemployment benefits, alternative minimum tax patch, the 2 percentage point reduction in payroll taxes and more.

The letter can be downloaded here.
