AICPA opens CAS benchmark survey

The American Institute of CPAs and its technology arm, CPA.com, has opened its 2018 Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) Client Accounting Advisory Services (CAS) Benchmark Survey. CAS is a growing area of service among small and midsized firms in the United States.

The benchmark survey will gather input on key performance indicators, management strategies, staffing and financial results from CAS practices across the country. Interested participants can take the survey until mid-July.

Participants in the survey are promised access to benchmarking data to help compare their firm’s CAS practice against others of varying sizes and makeup. They will also get personalized, detailed reporting with the ability to apply filters to drill into the data and create custom data subsets.

Trends identified in the survey will be shared at the 2018 Digital CPA Conference, to be held December 3-5 in National Harbor, Maryland; and used in various publications and educational presentations to further CAS practices.

One person per CAS practice can complete the survey, and the AICPA recommends that respondent be the CAS practice leader.
