Another Merger for CRI

Top 100 Firm Carr, Riggs & Ingram added Roberts, Cherry & Co. to its Louisiana practice.

“CRI’s entry into the Shreveport market allows us to offer expanded services and expertise available from a regional firm to businesses and individuals throughout Northern Louisiana,” William H. Carr, chairman and managing partner of CRI, said in a statement. “The Roberts, Cherry and Co. team complements our existing offices in the New Orleans area not only by providing another location from which to deliver services but also by aligning with our key industries of service—such as construction, manufacturing and distribution, governments, and insurance—while offering additional expertise in the oil and gas industry.”

CRI, which is headquartered in Enterprise, Ala., now has 31 offices located throughout Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas. The latest addition comes on the heels of CRI’s most recent news when it merged with Byrd, Proctor & Mills last week. (see CRI’s M&A Spree Continues)

It appears that the firm is aggressively expanding throughout the South. In 2011, it tapped into the Metairie, La. market, when it merged with Rebowe & Co. It then headed over to the Kentucky market where it merged with Holland CPAs. And in January, the firm acquired the Southern Georgia firm BowenPhillips LLP.
