APA Offers Online Payroll Tutorials

San Antonio (July 17, 2002) -- The American Payroll Association is offering a new training tool -- online training tutorials -- to help employers avoid the ongoing threat of costly noncompliance fines.

This new training option, one of more than 300 training opportunities offered by the APA, is in response to demand for short, convenient lessons on specific payroll topics.

"Payroll professionals are busier than ever, and online training provides them a convenient, cost effective, yet comprehensive option to obtain training critical to their compliance and increased efficiency," said Dan Maddux, executive director of the 21,000-member association.

Each tutorial takes from four to six hours to complete and includes a pre-test, study modules, application exercises and a post-test to demonstrate increased knowledge and skills in each topic. Participants who complete the post-test with a score of eighty percent or higher are eligible for continuing education units and recertification credit hours. Enrollment and a free demo of APA's Online Training Tutorials are available at www.learnpayroll.org.
