App of the Week

While the move to digital makes it easier to back up and store documents and files, it also means that you have to manage different versions and the differences between different stockpiles of files. Android app FolderSync aims to make this easier by enabling simple synchronization with cloud-based storage to and from local folders on a device’s memory card.

The app currently supports multiple accounts from a number of cloud storage services, including SkyDrive, Copy.com, Dropbox, Dump Truck, SugarSync, Ubuntu One, Box.net, LiveDrive, HiDrive, Google Docs, NetDocuments, Amazon S3, FTP, FTPS, SFTP, and more. Support for more platforms is planned.

It lets users effortlessly sync files, and back up music, pictures and other files from their phone, and vice versa. It also includes a full file manager that lets you manage files locally and in the cloud, so you can copy, move and delete files wherever they are.

There is also a free lite version to test the app before buying. It supports two accounts and limited functionality.
