This is one of those head-slapping, of-course-my-smartphone-should-do that apps: It's already got a camera, and cameras are basically scanners, so it's only natural that your phone can now be a scanner, thanks to CamScanner.
It lets you scan and make PDFs out of all sorts of documents -- and it has smart cropping and auto-enhancing features to make them look better. It has optical character recognition features so you can extract text from your scans, annotation and editing features so you can add to and improve them, and sharing and collaboration features, so you can get everyone else's feedback on what you've just scanned.
Since it works on smartphones, tablets and desktops, you can sync your scans across all your devices, and it's available for both iOS and Android devices.
