The American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals, atrade group here, has issued the first-ever technical standards for thepreparation of cost segregation studies.
Called Minimum Quality Standards for Cost SegregationStudies, the guideline was developed by ASCSP members over the course of atwo-year collaboration. The organization said the new guidelines are closelyaligned with IRS standards regarding audit procedures for cost segregation.
The ASCSP said its technical standards identify thecomponents of critical elements that must be developed and presented in aquality cost segregation study in order to satisfy IRS guidelines.
The standards will be highlighted at the ASCSP's upcomingconvention in Las Vegas, Oct. 22-24. For more information, go to:www.ascsp.org.
