AVF Consulting Spins Off Software Development Division

Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Serenic reseller AVF Consulting is spinning off its software development division ChargeLogic as the firm plans to predominantly focus on serving the nonprofit sector going forward.

ChargeLogic is a Certified for Microsoft Dynamics ISV that was created in 2005 to serve the Microsoft Dynamics NAV market. The division, which creates PCI-compliant software for Dynamics NAV will become an independent business on Jan. 1, 2013 with lead ChargeLogic developer Jonathan Copper as its new president and chief software architect.

“AVF has served nonprofits since 2002, but VARs that want to thrive must be laser focused in specific vertical markets,” said AVF chief executive Andrew Fass.  “After years of specializing in several verticals including nonprofit, retail, and K-12 schools, AVF has chosen the nonprofit vertical as its primary focus. As they have since 2002 and 1996 respectively, Serenic Navigator and Microsoft Dynamics NAV will remain AVF’s software of choice.”

In 2009, Andrew and Jeremy Fass established K12 Enterprise, Microsoft’s financial and HR management software for K-12 school systems, to address the growing opportunities in the K-12 market. K12 Enterprise is built on Microsoft Dynamics NAV and provides the specific functionality required by K-12 school systems.  AVF still serves its current retail clients and has recently partnered with Dynamics NAV and LS Retail VAR ArcherPoint, to assist in this process as retail will no longer be a core focus for AVF, according to Fass.

In addition, as part of its renewed focus on the nonprofit sector, AVF is planning to hire new marketing and account managers in early 2013. These individuals are expected to lead business development efforts by targeting midsized and large nonprofit organizations and NGOs nationwide.  The project manager will play a key role in Serenic Navigator implementations for the large nonprofit organizations that joined AVF’s client roster in 2012, as well as future clients.

AVF ranked 63 on the Accounting Today’s 2012 VAR 100 list, posting $5.75 million in gross revenue with one office and 28 staff.
