BDO reported a 10.7 percent increase in global revenue across its network of accounting firms Tuesday, reaching a total of $8.99 billion for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2018.

BDO said it now has a total of more than 80,000 staff members working in 1,591 offices in 162 countries around the world.

BDO experienced growth across all geographic regions in the past fiscal year, with the strongest revenue increase in the Europe Middle East and Africa region, where it was up 17 percent, followed by the Americas with a 7.8 percent increase, and the Asia Pacific, up 6.6 percent.

“2018 has been a year of growth and investment for the BDO network,” said BDO USA CEO Wayne Berson, who also chairs the global board of BDO International Ltd. “Both public and private businesses are increasingly attracted to the critical thinking and excellent client service provided by our partners and professionals, as we advise them on the challenges of today and those on the horizon. Moving forward, we will continue to invest in our people and in new technologies to ensure we continue to meet and exceed the expectations of our valued clients.”

In the past year, BDO has made significant investments in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and robotic process automation, while also merging in some data analytics and technology advisory companies. BDO has also been collaborating with Microsoft on behalf of the network and its clients.
