Accounting firm Beard Miller Co. has combined with Edwards Sauer & Owens, a Pittsburgh-based CPA firm that will build BMC's presence in central and western Pennsylvania.
The merger became effective on Jan. 1. Financial terms were not disclosed. ESO will contribute four partners and 14 staff members to the combined firm. BMC plans to maintain ESO's Altoona location and consolidate the Pittsburgh offices of ESO and BMC into one location early this year. BMC has 15 offices in New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
"This combination meets a critical objective for the firm, which is to grow the practice in a strategic manner, building on existing strengths and adding resources and depth to better serve clients and facilitate growth," said BMC chairman Lamar Stoltzfus in a statement. BMC ranked 39th on Accounting Today's list of the Top 100 Firms, with $51.8 million in revenue.
Both firms provide audit, accounting, tax and consulting services to large and small companies in industries such as financial services, manufacturing, health care and construction.
