Janet Bernier has joined Marcum LLP as a principal and partner-in-charge of the New York City Tax and Business Services Division.
A tax attorney and consultant for over two decades, Bernier will oversee a team of 50 tax professionals. Prior to joining Marcum, she was tax partner-in-charge of the New York office of a middle-market firm, and before that was a tax partner with a Big Four firm.
"Janet understands the challenges and nuances middle-market companies are faced with today, and brings with her a track record of success for the clients she serves," said Joseph J. Perry, partner-in-charge of Marcum's Tax and Business Services Division. "We look forward to working closely with Janet as we continue to expand and enhance our Tax and Business Services practice in New York."
Bernier received a JD from St. John's University School of Law, and a BA from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
