H&R Block has introduced a downloadable tax information app that users of the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch and Google Android devices can run.
The free H&R Block Tax Central App is available in the iTunes Stores and the Android Market. The app is able to answer some popular tax questions, and provide tax advice and alerts. It includes a tax refund estimator and a customized tax information checklist to identify key filing dates and materials that users need to file.
The app also includes a glossary of tax terms, and instant answers from Block’s Tax Institute. A quick estimate of a taxpayer's refund can be e-mailed to the app user. An office locator provides a phone number and directions to local H&R Block offices, while another feature explains the H&R Block At Home online software for do-it-yourself filers.
Short tax quizzes keep track of users’ scores and allow users to see if they are improving their tax knowledge. The app also provides links to H&R Block video clips on
The free H&R Block Tax Central App was the top finance app for over a week last tax season on iTunes, according to Block.
