BlumShapiro Appoints New Partners

IMGCAP(1)] BlumShapiro has elected Christine Gonzalez as a new partner.

As a tax partner at BlumShapiro, Gonzalez works with privately held, middle market companies and offers income tax planning, compliance and business consulting, including mergers and acquisitions and specialized transactions services.

Medical practices and real estate companies, manufacturing companies, retail businesses and professional service firms are just some of the clients Gonzalez serves. She also has experience working with corporations, subchapter S corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and individuals.

In addition, Gonzalez provides consulting, planning and compliance services to non-profit clients, including private foundations and public charities.

Gonzalez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Sacred Heart University and a Master of Science in Taxation from Fairfield University. She became a CPA in 2000 and is a member of the AICPA, and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.

[IMGCAP(2)] BlumShapiro also tapped Mark Campbell to serve as partner in its Litigation Services and Business Valuation Group. He has more than 12 years of experience in company valuations, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and reorganizations, and tax and litigation support services.

Prior to joining BlumShapiro in 2007, Campbell was vice president at Knox & Co., an investment banking and corporate advisory firm in Westport, Conn. He was the financial advisor on over 15 mergers and acquisitions and headed the company’s valuation practice. He was also the financial advisor on over 25 restructurings, reorganizations and related consulting assignments, including lead banker on several transactions. Prior to Knox & Co., Campbell was a Senior Tax Consultant with Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Campbell earned a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1992, majoring in Accounting. He also earned a Juris Doctorate and Masters in Business Administration from Pace University in 1997 and 2002, respectively.

Campbell is a member of the American Society of Appraisers, the AICPA, Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and he sits on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.
