Yancey & Bowman LLC, a firm based in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is joining Brown, Edwards & Company LLP, a Regional Leader based in Roanoke, Virginia, effective Dec. 1, 2018.

The deal will add two partners and five associates from Yancey & Bowman to Brown Edwards’ existing office in Harrisonburg. Brown Edwards relocated to the Harrisonburg office in late summer due to growth in that market, with plans for additional staff, according to a spokesperson.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Brown Edwards ranked 6th on Accounting Today’s 2018 list of Regional Leaders for the Capital Region, with $37.5 million in annual revenue.

Brown Edwards offers assurance, tax and business advisory services to a diverse clientele throughout Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina. The combined firm will have more than 350 associates, including 43 partners, in 10 offices in Blacksburg, Bristol, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, Newport News, Roanoke and Wytheville, Virginia; Charleston and Bluefield, West Virginia; and Kingsport, Tennessee.

“Over the years, YB has developed and grown valuable and well respected specializations that fit with our mission to provide a wide variety of services to our clients,” said Brown Edwards CEO Jason Hartman in a statement. “The additional resources of Brown Edwards will allow the merged firms to deliver these services to an expanded market. And, importantly, we are adding well-respected partners and staff whom we have known and worked with over many years in the Harrisonburg area. All of us have a similar approach to helping our clients achieve their goals and this merger will enhance our ability to deliver on our commitment to our clients.”

Last month, Brown Edwards added Dixon Hughes Goodman’s office in Newport News and it is growing further in Virginia with its latest deal.

“We are very proud of the quality and service we have delivered to our clients over the years and are excited to join a growing Top 100 Firm that has a strong focus on not only the Harrisonburg area but also the entire region,” said YB partner Richard Yancey in a statement. “We feel this change will allow us to continue offering comprehensive and personalized business advice tailored to our client’s needs. And, importantly, Brown Edwards shares our philosophy of focusing on the success of our clients.”
