Bush Taps Casey as Glassman's Successor at SEC

President Bush has nominated Republican Kathleen Casey, currently serving as staff director for the Senate Banking Committee, to replace Cynthia Glassman at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Glassman's term as an SEC commissioner ends officially June 5. However, she indicated that she would remain at the regulator until a successor was in place.

Separately, Paul Berger, associate director of enforcement at the SEC, and a 14-year veteran of the commission, said that he is leaving to join the Washington DC office of law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.
