Houston-based CPA firm Calvetti, Ferguson & Wagner has acquired Kainer & Company, a tax and accounting consultancy.
Kainer & Company, also based in Houston, provides tax advice to individuals, closely held companies, estates and trusts. The firm has provided services ranging from the development of accounting processes to the completion of federal and state returns for over 20 years.
“This merger expands CF&W’s tax expertise and is a great complement to our existing tax practice,” CF&W managing partner Jason Ferguson said in a statement. “Our firms share the same culture, values and client service philosophy, and I’m confident that this merger will sustain our tradition of excellent service and provide the environment our clients and associates have come to expect.”
Under the agreement, Kainer & Company’s employees will join CF&W, and CF&W will acquire the firm’s existing client base and contracts. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Deborah Kainer, owner of Kainer & Company, will hold the title of principal at CF&W. She possesses more than 25 years of public accounting experience, providing clients with expert counsel on business and personal financial and tax needs.
