Camico Names New Chairman

Robert P. "Pat" Evans, CPA, CISA, has been named chairman of accountants liability insurer Camico, succeeding Louis J. Barbich, CPA, who served in the position for 26 years, since the company's founding in 1986.

Evans, who has been appointed to a three-year term, has served on Camico's board since 2003, and is president of Schieffer Group Management Co. Prior to that, he was managing partner of accounting firm Sproles Woodard LLP.

In addition to extensive experience in auditing and consulting for a variety of industries, Evans has authored two practice aids for the American Institute of CPAs -- Industry Consulting: Voluntary Health and Welfare Organizations and Microcomputer Security.

"I'm excited about serving Camico policyholders as their chairman of the board and about Camico's future as we anticipate and serve the needs of CPAs as only Camico can," Evans said.

"Pat's leadership has been an instrumental part of Camico's strength, growth and success over the past nine years. His vision will ensure the company's continued guidance and support to our policyholders for years to come," said Barbich. A co-founder of the company, as well as a past president of the California Society of CPAs and founding shareholder of Barbich Hooper King Dill Hoffman, Barbich will continue to serve on the board.
