CBIZ has acquired South Winds Inc., a Baltimore-based retirement consulting firm, which does business under the name Benexx.
The acquisition took effect on Aug. 1. Founded in 2002, Benexx provides 401(k) and other qualified retirement plan services to over 400 small and midsized companies nationally. Benexx has nine associates and recorded approximately $1.9 million in revenue during the past 12 months.
Adding Benexx to the Employee Services Division creates value for our clients and leverage for our company to distribute 401k services, said CBIZ chairman and CEO Steven L. Gerard in a statement.
CBIZ also provides financial services, including accounting and tax, internal audit, merger and acquisition advisory, and valuation services. Employee services include group benefits, property and casualty insurance, payroll, HR consulting and wealth management.
CBIZ/Mayer Hoffman McCann ranked eighth on Accounting Todays 2010 list of the Top 100 Firms, with approximately $600.66 million in revenue.
