CCH Poised to Debut SaaS Model of ProSystem fx Scan

As part of its sweeping  mobile technology strategy, CCH is preparing to launch a cloud version of its ProSystem fx Scan tax solution that is scheduled to be unveiled in December.

The product, which is based on the optical character recognition technology found in the ProSystem fx Scan on-premise product, shifts the workflow processing to CCH’s secure servers and offers a scalable price point, according to Bob Dias, vice president of tax product management at CCH.

News of the new application was revealed at CCH Connections, the tax and financial products and services provider’s annual user conference, here in San Antonio, Texas

“It’s transactional based,” Dias said of the pricing. He added that the new format would appeal to smaller firms as well as practices with multiple offices.

“If a firm adopts this and scales it across its 1040 process, it fundamentally changes the workflow, allowing it to be pushed down to junior staff,” Dias said.

The announcement was among a number of new tech announcements at the confab, which included a tax news highlights app for CCH Mobile, CCH Tax Tracker News, which enables subscribers to CCH’s research platform IntelliConnect to set up custom and automated news searches, and CCH Smart Charts research tools for federal and state tax rates.
