CCH has released the latest version of its online consumer tax preparation software, CompleteTax.
The software is available in four versions, including a free version for first-time filers, those who want to claim the Earned Income Tax Credit, and taxpayers who want to prepare a 1040EZ return. CCH is also selling basic, deluxe and premium versions of the software.
The software uses an interview process to guide users through the tax prep process. It includes guidance from CCH and advice on accurately valuing non-cash charitable deductions through a partnership with CharityDeductions.com. Electronic filing will be available starting Jan. 15.
