CCH Unveils SalesTax.com

CCH Tax and Accounting has unveiled a Web site for sales and use tax professionals.

SalesTax.com includes a tool for telecommunications companies -- the Customer Exemptions Smart Chart, which accounts for 19 categories of telecommunications tax customers, from the federal government to Indian tribes. The database also includes 28 different tax types for all 50 states, which allows users to determine the exact taxable status for each customer and tax type in each jurisdiction. 

The ZIPsales Database and Lookup for Restaurants provides coverage of restaurant products and services, from prepared food to beer. The data is mapped using multiple location criteria, including ZIP code, ZIP+4, FIPS geocode, and state, county and city name.

The site also includes a sales tax FAQ, and an overview of sales taxation, Sales Tax Fundamentals, for newcomers to the field.

Visitors can also read highlights of the current issue of Intelligence for Taxation, a monthly newsletter that delivers updates and breaking news on sales and use tax rates and taxability changes.
