Change of Auditors

BANK OF SOUTH CAROLINA JETTISONS KPMG: The Bank of South Carolina has dismissed its auditor - Big Four firm KPMG - and hired Elliot Davis as its new independent accountant.In a federal filing, the company said that it made the decision to change auditors because it felt that it could get the same services at a lower fee structure from another audit firm.

The change becomes effective once KPMG finishes its audit of the company for the year ending Dec. 31.

For the last two years, KPMG and the Bank of South Carolina reported no disagreements over accounting matters or any adverse opinion or disclaimer of opinion.

E&Y DISMISSED AS AUDITOR: Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, an Irvine, Calif.-based provider of packaged fuel systems, dismissed Big Four firm Ernst & Young as its independent accountant and named McGladrey & Pullen as its successor.

No reason was given for the change of auditors.

Ernst & Young's reports for Quantum's last two fiscal years didn't contain any adverse opinion or disclaimer of opinion.

ZYGO RETAINS DELOITTE: Zygo, a Middlefield, Conn.-based manufacturer of electro-optical products, hired Big Four firm Deloitte as its auditor, replacing KPMG.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, there were no reported disagreements over accounting matters between Zygo and its former auditor.

PPL SACKS PWC: PPL Corp., an energy and utility holding company and a marketer of retail energy in the Northeast, has dismissed its auditor, Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.

In a filing, the Allentown, Pa.-based company said that it hired Ernst & Young as its new auditor.
