Change of Auditors

IVAX RETAINS PWC: Ivax Diagnostics Inc., a Miami-based manufacturer and marketer of scientific instruments, medical diagnostic and autoimmune kits, has retained Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers as its independent accountant.PwC succeeds Ernst & Young as Ivax's auditor.

OSI HIRES MOSS ADAMS: OSI Systems, a global provider of security and inspection systems and medical monitoring and anesthesia systems, hired the firm of Moss Adams as its auditor.

In a filing, the Hawthorne, Calif.-based company said that it did not consult with Moss Adams during the fiscal years ended June 30, 2004 and 2005, and through April 20, 2006, on any matter that was the subject of any disagreement or any reportable event.

EMRISE RETAINS HEIN & ASSOCIATES: Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.-based Emrise Corp., a manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic components and subsystems, hired Hein & Associates as its independent accountant, replacing Grant Thornton.

Emrise said that the decision to change auditors was approved by its audit committee, and indicated that the decision to change was precipitated by the company's desire for a firm that was more "cost-efficient."

For the years ended Dec. 31, 2004 and 2005, and the subsequent interim period through April 13, 2006, there were no disagreements between Emrise and Grant Thornton on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedures.

EL PASO APPOINTS E&Y: Big Four firm Ernst & Young has been appointed as auditor for Houston-based natural gas and energy products provider El Paso Corp.

Ernst replaces PricewaterhouseCoopers.

MACDERMAID JETTISONS KPMG: MacDermaid Inc., a concern specializing in surface preparation, electroplating and specialty coating materials and processes, dismissed incumbent auditor KPMG.

MacDermaid, based in Waterbury, Conn., subsequently hired Grant Thornton as its new independent accountant.
