Change of auditors

TECUMSEH PRODUCTS JETTISONS PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERSTecumseh Products Co., a manufacturer of electronic motors and compressors, has dismissed its auditor, Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, and named Grant Thornton as its new independent accountant. No reason was given for the change in auditors in a federal filing. Tecumseh said that it did not have any disagreements with PwC on financial statement disclosure, accounting principles or audits.

BOSTON LIFE SCIENCES HIRES M&P

Boston Life Sciences Inc., a Hopkinton, Mass.-based biotech company and researcher, named McGladrey & Pullen as its new auditor, replacing Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. Boston Life Sciences said that PwC's reports on the company's financials from 2005 and 2006 didn't contain any adverse opinion, with the exception of a paragraph regarding the auditor's doubt about the company's ability to continue as a going concern.

SALTON DISMISSES DELOITTE

Salton Inc., a Lake Forest Ill.-based manufacturer of kitchen appliances under brands such as Melitta and George Foreman, dismissed Big Four firm Deloitte & Touche as its independent accountant and named Grant Thornton as its replacement.

In a filing, the company reported no disagreements with its former auditor on any matter of accounting practices or principles.

AMCOMP RETAINS JOHNSON LAMBERT & CO.

Florida-based insurer AmComp Inc. engaged the firm of Johnson Lambert & Co. as its new auditor, replacing Big Four firm Deloitte, which was dismissed.

Deloitte's reports on AmComp's financials did not contain any adverse opinion or disagreements over accounting matters. However, its former auditor did note a weakness in financial controls during the company's third quarter in 2006.
