PARKWAY PROPERTIES DISMISSES E&YParkway Properties Inc., a Jackson, Miss.-based real estate investment trust, dismissed auditor Ernst & Young LLP and engaged KPMG as its new independent accountant.
In a filing, Parkway said that during its two most recent fiscal years ended Dec. 31, 2007, and in the interim period between Dec. 31, 2007, and June 30, 2008, there were no disagreements with E&Y on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure.
CALAMP ENGAGES SLGG
CalAmp Corp., an Oxnard, Calif., provider of wireless communications services, has jettisoned its auditor, KPMG, and named Singer Lewak Greenbaum & Goldstein as its successor. The company said that there were no disagreements with KPMG on any accounting matter.
BGC PARTNERS REPLACES DELOITTE
The audit committee of financial instruments broker BCG Partners has appointed Big Four firm Ernst & Young as its new independent accountant, replacing Deloitte, which was dismissed. The appointment of E&Y was scheduled to begin after Deloitte completed its review of BCG Partners’ quarterly financials, which ended June 30. The New York-based company said in an SEC filing that it didn’t have any accounting disagreements with its former auditor.
NEWPARK AND E&Y PART COMPANY
Newpark Resources Inc., which provides drilling fluids to the oil and gas exploration sector, said that it dismissed its auditor, Big Four firm Ernst & Young, and subsequently engaged Deloitte & Touche as its new independent accountant.
The Woodlands, Texas-based company said that its former auditor’s reports on its financial statements for fiscal years ended Dec. 31, 2006 and 2007, did not contain an adverse opinion or a disclaimer of opinion, and were not qualified or modified as to uncertainty, audit scope or accounting principles.
