Chicago Area Firm Joins Leading Edge Alliance

Bannockburn, Ill.-based FGMK LLC has joined the Leading Edge Alliance, bringing the CPA firm network's membership to 47 firms, with combined revenue of more than $700 million and more than 4,500 staff.

The $19 million firm, formerly known as Friedman, Goldberg, Mintz & Kallergis, has 90 professionals, including 27 partners, and focuses on serving closely held companies in the health care, real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution, publishing, professional services and securities industries. FGMK also offers technology solutions through its Netrix LLC affiliate.

"We see membership in the Leading Edge Alliance providing us with the ability to tap into a best practices knowledge base of America's leading local firms," said Mario Donato, FGMK chief executive.

LEA was formed by 18 large local firms in an effort to buck the consolidation trend in October 1999, when firms like Century Business Services and American Express Tax & Business Services were gobbling up local CPA firms. The group has expanded to Canada, Europe, Cayman Islands, Japan and the United Kingdom.
