Consultants form CPA Firm Best Practices Network

A group of prominent accounting firm advisors has banded together to create the CPA Firm Best Practices Network with the goal of helping firms reach a higher level of performance.

The network is affiliated with the CPA Leadership Institute and Adamson Advisory. The panel of advisors includes Gary Adamson of Adamson Advisory, Joel Sinkin of Transition Advisors, Lisa Tierney of Tierney Coaching and Consulting, Marc Rosenberg of the Rosenberg Associates, Randy Johnston of Network Management Group, Inc., Bryan Eberle of Haydenrock Solutions, and Joel Shiffrin of the CPA Leadership Institute.

The network is providing several resources for firms, including a CPA Firm Self-Assessment Tool, the CPA Firm Self-Assessment Survey, and the Best Practices Focus Group Program.

The CPA Firm Self-Assessment Tool includes a number of best practices for various parts of the business of CPA firms. Each best practice is accompanied by a description of what it means to be performing at a high level. The self-assessment tool helps firms gain insights into the strengths and weaknesses in their operations so they can begin the process of developing initiatives to improve.

Firms can use the tool to guide them in rating their own performance. They submit their ratings to the CPA Firm Best Practices Network, which will periodically publish a CPA Firm Self-Assessment Survey that member firms can use to compare themselves against their peers.

The Best Practices Focus Groups are online sessions that help firms prioritize and work on best practices to perform at a higher level.
