ConvergenceCoaching, NYCPA launch leadership program

ConvergenceCoaching and the New York State Society of CPAs yesterday launched a new leadership program called NextGen Leaders Institute.

The program, which begins September 24, includes six virtual sessions worth 12 CPE credits upon completion. It is open to young professionals with between one and seven years of experience across New York State and beyond.

The curriculum covers the topics: Being a leader regardless of your role, creating a culture of ownership and accountability, becoming a more impactful communicator, increasing your professional visibility and reach, the path to senior leadership and public impact, and anticipating the market — trends and success measures.

"Today's accounting profession is changing rapidly, and it is critical that we invest in the next generation of accounting and financial professional leaders," NYCPA CEO Calvin Harris, Jr. said in a statement. "The NextGen Leaders Institute offers young professionals the opportunity to build skills, communicate with impact, and expand their influence within their organizations and the broader community, so they become the leaders they want to see in their firms."

Registration is currently open. NYCPA members receive a discounted rate of $349 and non-members $449.
