CPA Firm Focuses on CEO Coaching

Somerset CPAs said it plans to launch a consulting program to help CEOs cope with the economic downturn.

The Somerset CPA Series provides group and individual coaching sessions that will occur on a bimonthly basis over a 20-month period.

"It's not necessarily just accounting-focused," said marketing manager Carrie Lewis. "It's looking at all aspects of participants' businesses, finding ways to benefit each other. It's not just tax, but also financial advisory information."

The program will be limited to 15 participants and will be run by Howard Cox, director of business consulting at the firm. It starts in May and will be open to different types of companies, ranging from small and midsized up to large enterprises. Somerset CPAs works with various industries, including healthcare, manufacturing and distribution. Besides CEOs, the program is also open to presidents, division managers and even plant managers, as well as those next in line to succeed them.
