CPAmerica Forms SOX Service Team

CPAmerica International has created a Sarbanes-Oxley national service team, consisting of experts from large independent CPA firms across the country. The team will provide consulting services for member firms whose clients are publicly held companies.

Team members have years of experience and expertise in all aspects of internal control and fraud prevention and include Scott Sachs and Kevin Holmes, partners with the Good Swartz Brown & Berns LLP, and G. Trevor Foo, with Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra LLP.

Sachs, whose firm has provided training for other CPAmerica member firms and is often asked to speak to national associations on compliance issues, said in a statement that the field is growing fast.

"We've been serving primarily publicly held companies and smaller concerns who are either considering going public or who are planning to sell to larger companies," Sachs said. "But we are looking at also providing services to insurance companies and nonprofit organizations that are also being affected by SOX."

The CPAmerica International network includes more than 70 member firms nationwide.
