Carr, Riggs & Ingram, a Top 25 Firm based in Enterprise, Alabama, is adding Abroms & Associates PC, based in Florence, Alabama.

The merger will expand CRI's presence in the northern part of its home state and comes on the heels of its merger last month with Williams Steinert Mask in San Antonio. Last November. CRI received funding from Centerbridge Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners to support a long-term growth strategy; it now has more than 2,500 professionals in over 40 markets across the U.S. CRI ranked No. 23 on Accounting Today's 2025 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $506.45 million in annual revenue.

Abroms & Associates dates back to 1981 and has clients in industries such as real estate, manufacturing, distribution and nonprofits. Its professionals will continue to serve clients from their Florence location under the CRI name.

"Abroms & Associates has long been recognized for its dedication to clients and its deep roots in the Shoals community," said CRI chairman Bill Carr in a statement Wednesday. "Their focus on excellence and genuine client care aligns perfectly with CRI's culture and values. This merger not only strengthens our footprint in northern Alabama but also reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in talented teams and expanding into growing markets. We look forward to building a shared legacy of client service while expanding the depth of resources and expertise available to clients."

CRI's expansion into Florence builds upon its substantial presence in Alabama.

"For decades, our firm has been proud to serve Florence and the greater Shoals community with the personal attention and trusted guidance our clients have come to expect," said Abroms & Associates president and managing shareholder Marty Abroms in a statement. "Joining CRI allows us to honor that legacy while expanding the depth of resources and expertise available to our clients. Together, we'll continue building on the strong relationships that define our community — now with the added reach and capabilities of a nationally recognized firm."

In addition to the merger last month with Williams Steinert Mask, CRI recently acquired Regional Leader CapinCrouse in Indianapolis in January. In August 2024, it added ProSport CPA, a firm in New Kent County, Virginia, offering tax and accounting services within the sports and entertainment niche. In 2023, it expanded into Oklahoma by adding Stanfield + O'Dell PC, in Tulsa. CRI expanded to South Carolina in 2022 by adding Lanning Group LLC, a firm based in Mount Pleasant in the Charleston suburbs, and expanded in Florida by adding Alonso & Garcia, in Miami. It expanded that year in Florida by adding Travani & Richter in Jupiter, and in Texas by adding Pharr Bounds LLP in Austin.
